Tsvangirai is Out

So I have been quite for a few weeks – my bad sorry.  I have been so busy I have not even had a chance to catch my breath.  There is the possibility that I may be able to move to SA with work.  We launched our business which has been a roaring success so far and life is generally being kind to me.  On the minus the news coming out of zim is BLEAK.  Morgan has pulled out of the running for the presidential race and I say good. The tyrant has made it clear that nothing will be free or fair in Zim whist he is on power and so there was no point in keeping up the farce.  I don’t know what this means – all I know is our families are paying the price its all so scary. The stuff is happening in our hoods and on our doorsteps.  The army versus the people world watching on…….. what a sorry state of affairs.  I was part of a panel on a BBC world service show last night.  I am glad I went and am glad I had a chance to express myself to the world.  One day I may look back and cringe but right now I am proud

Nervous Conditions

The counting has begun and I cannot seem to shake of this distinct feeling of malaise!!  I am hoping for a change but I just don’t think BOB will let go so easily .  Everyone I know is nervous what now? What happens next? What if? When?

I spoke to a few people this weekend who are just waiting ..and depending on the results, are poised to return to zim in their droves.

I guess as the song goes “all we can do is sit and wait”

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing

The elections are once more upon us and I am not quite sure what to make of all the madness! On one hand there is a small voice inside of me whispering that this could be the year when change finally comes to zim.  On the other hand I am not so hopeful because if the people I have been speaking to are to be believed practically everyone is expecting the elections to be rigged (as usual) big time!!

I think that Simba Makoni also throwing his hat in the ring has made it easier or Bob and co to rig the elections as they can apportion small numbers of votes between the two opposition candidates and give himself the majority vote – which would be an easy way for him to claim that the votes were “free and fair” and the people voted.

My biggest fear is that Zimbabwe will erupt in some Kenya style violence.  I am also afraid for the people of zim generally right now they are suffering so much – largely in silence.  How much more can  people take? And what will happen when they cannot take it anymore.  Historically we are not a blood thirsty or violent people but everyone has their limits right?

This whole thing make me think an old headmaster Mr Graham at chisi – who used to like the saying by Edmund Burke :- All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

I hope that people will talk with their feet and go and vote
